Firefly Medaka Pond Game
One long Carolina summer, egg season in full swing. New to the pond? The Manual tab inside the game covers everything. For the best experience, I recommend a desktop with the expanded window view; the arrows in the corner open it.
Real-money extras: one-time add-ons stay yours forever, and cash drops land in your till instantly. Every purchase funds my breeding program.

Collect all ten varieties I actually raise, across ten levels of real breeder's goals. Level one is a single pure colony of 25; level ten is ten pots and ten colonies, nine pure lines plus one of Breeder's Choice, because all my fish have value, no matter the color.
Breeding
- Feed by day. Females come into condition over days of steady meals, then lay on the mop at dawn. Nights are for resting, and flakes fed after dark just rot.
- Eggs take one female and one male. The trio, two females to one male, is the real breeder's ratio.
- One line per pot. Crossed lines make Breeder's Choice, not new varieties.
- Collect eggs to the nursery. Floaters overhead grow fry faster, and grown young must leave before they turn fry-eater. Release sends each one home to the pot raising its own line; Move takes a fish anywhere.
Water
- New pots arrive bare and dry. Fill the bucket, condition it, pour in portions, and float a mop. Keep pots topped up: more water dilutes the waste, so a full pot stays clean longer.
- Test strips read ammonia and chlorine, and a reading goes stale fast, so test again before you trust it. Forgot to treat a bucket? A capful of conditioner straight into the pot neutralizes what you can't see.
- Rain is forecast in the Report. Siphon some off early: an overflowing pot pulls fish, floaters, and even the mop toward the rim, and whatever crosses it is gone. You can drag things back while the water rides high.
Trouble
- Algae blooms in sunny, dirty water. Snails graze it down, hardest at night, and siphoning pulls it out.
- From level 4, dragonflies visit. Grab her mid-flight, or net out the ambush nymphs before they strike.
- Overgrown floaters smother a pot after dark, and duckweed spreads fastest, exactly like real life.
- A pot has room for 30 fish. You can cram in more, but crowded fish run out of oxygen and start dying, fastest at night.
- The pond keeps living while you're away: fry grow, plants spread, and water drops. Nobody feeds or scoops unless the Hired Help from Add-ons is on shift.
- Lost fish float. Scoop them out before they foul the water.
The hand
- Drag anything: fish, clumps, the mop, nymphs, and the lost. Drag a box over open water to grip a group.
- Anything tossed outside the pot is trash, gone for good.
Goals
- Each level needs its colonies AND its cash at the same time. Hit both, enjoy the confetti, and Proceed when you're ready.
- The Report folds repeats into one running line, pins deaths, overflows, dragonflies, and goals at the top until they're handled or a day passes, and closes each day at dusk with a one-line summary.
- Beat the breeder's pace for a cash bonus. Restart level rewinds to the level's start.
- The pot dropdown and the water bar grade every pot green, yellow, or red, and name what they see: algae, crowding, dead fish, a dragonfly or nymphs, and overflow, even in pots you aren't looking at. The water's chemistry stays hidden until you test. The buttons carry their own supply meters.
- Real-money extras live in the Add-ons tab. The Breeder's Toolkit runs an auto-feeder, a rain barrel, and a shade cloth. Hired Help works the pond while you're away, and Market Week doubles every sale for seven pond days.
- Everything else is pond cash, and your pond saves itself in this browser.
