Includes a FREE baby Japanese Trapdoor Snail while they last. It is already added to your cart, so just untick it at checkout if you would rather not have one. Free gift, not covered by the live arrival guarantee.
Each order is three Blueberry Snails (Viviparus sp.), a unique freshwater species known for their beautiful blue shell coloration, active behavior, and livebearing reproduction. Unlike many common aquarium snails, they give birth to live young rather than laying eggs, and spend their time grazing on algae and biofilm.
Seasonality matters with this one: Blueberry Snails can live outdoors through the warm months, but they are not cold-hardy the way my Japanese Trapdoor Snails are, so they need to come inside before temperatures drop. If you do keep them outside for the summer, house them in a container you can easily reach into, so collecting everyone at the end of the season is simple. And if you want snails you can leave outside all year, my Japanese Trapdoor Snails are the better pick.
Every live animal order includes complimentary floating plants and is backed by my Live Arrival Guarantee. Live animals ship Mondays, usually the next available one and occasionally the one after. During extreme weather I may hold your shipment and wait for safer conditions, and I will keep you posted if that happens. Not ready yet? Ask me to hold your order at checkout and I will ship whenever you say go, at no extra cost.
