It starts with one fish. Then a tub, then a second tub, and one day there is a pond in the yard. This is my premium crewneck, a soft garment-dyed fleece for the cold mornings you spend out there checking on it.

I drew the pond by hand: a stone edge, iris and cattails, lily pads, and six medaka in mixed varieties with plenty of room to swim, all in navy ink.

Printed direct to garment on the Comfort Colors 1566, a garment-dyed crewneck sweatshirt in medium-heavy 9.5 oz fleece, 80% ring-spun cotton and 20% polyester. The garment dyeing gives it a soft, broken-in feel from the first wear and a rich, washed color, and the relaxed fit drapes instead of clinging. Wash cold inside out and tumble dry low.
