Java Moss (Taxiphyllum barbieri)
$4.99
The classic beginner moss, and the best fry cover there is. Java Moss grows as a dense, tangled mat that newly hatched fry disappear into, which is exactly what you want in a breeding setup. It needs no substrate, no fertilizer, and no special light. Leave it loose and it will drift and clump, or tie it to a rock or a piece of wood and it will attach on its own over a few weeks. It grows slowly compared to my stem plants, so it stays where you put it. Grown outdoors in North Carolina alongside my medaka.
