Live Medaka Shipped to Oklahoma
Yes, I ship live Japanese rice fish to Oklahoma. Boxes leave Raleigh, North Carolina on Mondays by UPS 2nd Day Air, so a Monday box is normally due Wednesday. I have no shop or pickup in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma weather and your fish
Oklahoma brings hot, windy summers, spring severe weather, and the odd hard ice storm. That wind dries a tub fast, so check the water line more often than you would elsewhere.
Tulsa is more humid and Oklahoma City is windier, and the Panhandle is drier and colder. Storm season is a good reason to place a tub where flying debris and overflow won't reach it, and to weigh down any cover.
When to order
Spring and fall are usually gentlest. Heat waves and ice can each push a box back.
Keeping medaka here
Roughly USDA hardiness zones 6 to 8. A deep tub can often stay out all year with summer shade. A 10-gallon or larger indoor tank also works, no heater needed. More in my winter guide.
Plants for Oklahoma
I do not ship Salvinia and Floating Plant Variety Pack to Oklahoma. The rest of my plant shop can go, and the free floating plants in a fish or snail order are chosen from what is legal to send you.
Rates, holds, and the live arrival guarantee are on my shipping page. Never release fish or plants into local water, and ask your state wildlife agency about local rules.
