Shipping restriction, please read. This plant is regulated in some states, so I cannot ship it to: LA, OH, OK, TX. If your delivery address is in one of these states, please choose a different floating plant, my Giant Duckweed and Red Root Floaters ship everywhere. If a restricted-state order does come through, I'll reach out to swap this item for a comparable legal plant of equal value. It's the buyer's responsibility to know their state's aquatic-plant laws.

Salvinia is a fast-growing floating fern with soft, water-repellent leaves and a dense root layer, a favorite for shading a tub and soaking up excess nutrients quickly. A small starter portion fills in a surface in no time.

Like all floating plants, it shades the water to suppress algae, pulls ammonia and nitrate from the water column, and gives fry and shrimp cover right at the surface where medaka feed.

Every live fish order already ships with a free assortment of floating plants. This listing is for when you want more, or this plant specifically, on its own or added to any order.

You'll receive a healthy starter portion of at least 10 plants. Kept in decent light, floating plants multiply fast, so that starter portion fills in a surface quickly, the happier they are, the faster they spread.

Perfect For

  • Quick surface cover
  • Nutrient control
