Amber Medaka are a beautiful variety of Japanese Rice Fish admired for their warm amber coloration, metallic highlights, and subtle iridescent rainbow reflections. Depending on the lighting, these fish can display beautiful shades of gold, orange, and shimmering metallic tones that make them a standout addition to any freshwater aquarium or outdoor pond.
Every Amber develops its own unique combination of colors and markings, making each fish one of a kind while maintaining the distinctive beauty of this variety.
Every fish I ship is hand-picked and health-checked by me in North Carolina, conditioned before it leaves, and backed by my live arrival guarantee. Healthy fish settle in faster, whether they are headed for an aquarium, a patio tub, or an outdoor pond.
At Firefly Medaka, every fish is individually evaluated for health, body shape, coloration, metallic quality, and overall appearance before being offered for sale. Through meticulous selection and screening, I continually improve my breeding stock while selecting fish that best represent the Amber variety.
Every live animal order includes complimentary floating plants and is backed by my Live Arrival Guarantee. Live animals ship Mondays, usually the next available one and occasionally the one after. During extreme weather I may hold your shipment and wait for safer conditions, and I will keep you posted if that happens. Not ready yet? Ask me to hold your order at checkout and I will ship whenever you say go, at no extra cost.
Absolutely stunning little fish! They positively glow like freshly minted sparkling gold coins in the bright sunlight, and they have amazing green eyes when seen from certain angles. The females started laying eggs 2 days after transfer! PHOTOGRAPHS DO NOT DO THEM JUSTICE!!
